My name is Shashank Chopra from India and I am a recent graduate of the MSc Digital Marketing (https://tus.ie/courses/msc-digital-marketing-and-analytics/) Programme at TUS. I chose Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) for my MSc in Digital Marketing because it offered a balance of academic rigor and industry exposure. The Midwest campus in Limerick appealed to me due to its strong tech presence and opportunities for industrial visits. Ireland is a hub for global tech companies, and I knew studying here would provide both personal and professional growth.
My experience as an international student at TUS has been nothing short of amazing. From day one, I was welcomed and supported by the Global office. Greg and Eoin, who arranged so many memorable events, made sure I always felt at home.
On campus, my favorite spots were the library and the student union, especially when I needed a break from lectures by my favorite lecturers, Rachel Walsh, Cara Callaghan, Nora O’Mahony, and Ronan Walsh. Each of them brought their own unique perspective to digital marketing, and I found their teaching methods to be highly engaging and practical.
Beyond that, I was fortunate enough to land a summer job with TUS Global, thanks to their incredible support. I worked for three months with the creative team, including Greg, Fiona, and Ufuoma, and the experience was enriching both personally and professionally.
The best thing about TUS is its hands-on approach to learning. The opportunities for industrial visits, like the one we had at Google, and the real-world projects they provide, help you gain practical experience while studying. I also really appreciated the strong community vibe, it’s easy to feel connected and supported, especially by the TUS Global team.
One of the most memorable moments was being part of the first TUS Global St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Limerick, organized by the international office. The atmosphere was electric, and I felt like a celebrity! The event made me realize how vibrant and diverse the student community at TUS truly is.
The biggest (and most fun!) culture shock was experiencing my first Irish Ceilí dance. It was unlike anything I had ever done fast-paced, full of energy, and a lot of fun. The whole event was a perfect introduction to Irish culture, and I’ll always treasure it.
Studying at TUS has been a life-changing experience, both academically and personally. I’ve gained valuable skills, built lasting friendships, and truly felt supported throughout my journey. If you’re considering studying in Ireland, I can confidently say that TUS is the place to be.
