Welcome
The Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology (FAST) provides a diverse range of programmes to our community from Forensic and Pharmaceutical Science to Software Development to Social Care Work. The academic level of our programmes ranges for higher certificate (Level 6) to ordinary degrees, honours degrees, master degrees and on to PhD (Level 10). FAST is deeply committed to your education and development. We offer a wide range of programmes that reflect the needs of industry and community. Our teaching is modern and relevant through scholarship and research. In addition to a complete grounding in your relevant discipline there is a focus on quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, communication and teamwork. In other words, the development of the person and the professional in preparation for a 21st century career. Our philosophy of active learning, combined with small group delivery and self-directed study encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning, the training of the mind to think. All programmes have a six-month work placement module in Year 3. Most importantly, our faculty are friendly, welcoming, and supportive, they provide a nurturing environment which will enable you to reach your full potential.
“The value of a college education is not the learning of many facts but the training of the mind to think.”
