Brief Overview/Project Summary

The USMED (Upskilling workers of SMEs with low Digital intensity) project is an Erasmus+ initiative that aims at improving the capacity of vocational education and training (VET) providers to support the digital upskilling of current and future workers in MSMEs (micro, small and medium sized enterprises) within the Accommodation and Food sector (A&F.) USMED recognises that A&F is one of the least digitally intense sectors and it seeks to address the digital skills gap through innovative educational resources, tailored learning pathways, and digital infrastructure.
The project brings together seven partners combining their expertise in education, digital transformation, and sector-specific training.

More Information

USMED aims to enhance the ability of IVET (Initial Vocational Education and Training) and CVET (Continuing Vocational Education and Training) providers to equip the A&F sectors workers in upskilling and reskilling their digital skills to succeed in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. The project seeks to strengthen the VET providers curriculum to deliver innovative, flexible, and tailored digital learning pathways that responds directly to the evolving needs of the digital economy and society. USMED will enable VET institutions to design and implement effective digital skills development programmes to foster collaboration with industry, and ultimately, improve the employability, adaptability, and competitiveness of the A&F sector amongst workers in Europe.
The objectives include:

• Designing and piloting scalable digital skills development pathways for A&F in MSME workers and owners.
