Project Summary
BUILD UP Skills United (BUSUnited) is a collaborative initiative under the LIFE Clean Energy Transition (CET) sub-programme. It aims to build a strong EU-wide community of construction professionals by promoting sustainable energy skills through knowledge exchange, capacity building, and cross-sector cooperation. Building on over 90 projects in 32 countries since 2011, BUSUnited continues the legacy of the BUILD UP Skills initiative. It supports the urgent upskilling and reskilling of the construction workforce to help achieve the EU’s climate and energy goals, including the European Green Deal and 2050 carbon neutrality.
What are BUSUnited Community of Practice’s (CoP’s)?
BUSUnited CoPs are dynamic and open collaboration spaces designed for practitioners to share experiences, address common challenges and co-create solutions in the most strategic areas of skills development for sustainable design, construction, renovation, and maintenance. They follow a challenge-based approach, bringing together diverse actors to jointly tackle real-world challenges identified by the community itself, whilst building on proven practices and lessons learnt across Europe.
BUSUnited launches with seven Communities of Practice, building on already existing and active thematic communities within the BUILD UP Skills ecosystem. As the community grows and new needs emerge, additional CoPs will be progressively launched, reflecting members’ suggestions and evolving thematic priorities.
