The HSE defines addiction as “not being able to control doing, taking or using something. This can be to a point where it is harmful to you.” Addiction can impact anyone and people can be addicted to many things such as cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, gambling, digital devices, etc. TUS strives to create a safe, non-judgemental environment where students and staff can educate themselves on these topics and know how to access support should they need it.

Tobacco Free Campus – TUS Athlone

In support of a safe and healthy environment for staff, students and visitors, TUS Midlands Campus Buildings and External Campus Areas have been designated smoke-free since 2015. The 2015 Policy approved under AIT remains in place and active for TUS Midlands. The policy, which includes e-cigarettes, can be accessed via the link below. We ask all students and staff to respect colleagues and fellow students by adhering to this policy.
