Brief description of your job: I currently work as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Cook Medical in Castletroy, Limerick.
What did you most like about your course?
I really enjoyed the hands-on laboratory experience. We had multiple labs weekly where we conducted experiments ourselves and gained essential hands-on lab experience.
What was your experience of the teaching and learning environment in TUS?
The lecturers were so friendly and supportive. They really got to know all students on an individual level. The class sizes weren’t too big, this allowed more individual time with lecturers. Also there were free online grinds available on campus which were available to all students that needed it.
How was your work placement experience while on the course?
My work experience was very positive. I completed 6-month work experience in a lab and got a full time job in the same lab after I graduated. My work placement really helped my professional development.
How has your degree helped you in your career?
My degree has really helped my career progression. I gained valuable hands-on experiences in my time at TUS and the knowledge gained there is invaluable. The content of what I studied was broad and made me equipped me to take on a wide range of roles in industry. The support I got from lecturers during my studies and after I graduated was second to none.
What advice would you give to someone considering studying this course?
I would strongly advise anyone that is thinking of doing the course to do it. Completing this course made me suitable for a wide range of careers in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries.
