Róisín joined Athlone Institute of Technology, now Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), in 2005 and has over 20 years’ experience supporting students in higher education. As a Learning Support Tutor, she works with students with disabilities, specific learning difficulties and neurodivergent students. Her role includes conducting needs assessments, identifying and implementing reasonable accommodations, providing personalised academic and assistive technology support, and developing inclusive learning resources for students and staff.

Róisín holds a Master of Arts in Professional Studies in Special Educational Needs and a Postgraduate Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties from the University of Galway. She also holds the British Psychological Society’s Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing and a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Languages.

Her specialist areas include neurodiversity, assistive technology and specific learning difficulties. She administers dyslexia and handwriting screenings using DAST and DASH and works with academic staff to promote inclusive teaching and learning practices. Róisín has also completed a Practitioner Certificate for professionals working with autistic adults and serves as an ADHD Champion.
