Anna Murphy is the Pre-Entry Access Coordinator at TUS Midwest and Programme Leader on the Certificate in Transition to Higher Education, where she also lectures. She has spent over 20 years building inclusive pathways for students from underrepresented and non-traditional backgrounds.
Anna has played a central role in shaping access provision within TUS, developing initiatives that widen participation and bring the principle of access to life in everyday practice. The Certificate in Transition to Higher Education, which she leads, has received national recognition through an AONTAS STAR award.
Anna represents TUS on national networks and committees, serving as Secretary of Mature Students Ireland and sitting on the steering group for OPEN (Outreach Pre-Entry Network), where she contributes to access policy development across the sector.
She holds a Master’s in Education, a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Policy and Practice, and is a qualified coach. Her work is grounded in a strong commitment to equity, social inclusion, and student empowerment. She supports students in building confidence, strengthening their academic readiness, and developing a genuine sense of belonging.
