Through its three phases, the programme supports people who have a business idea and want to explore the feasibility, viability and sustainability of their business concept.

Entrepreneur Bootcamps
New Frontiers Phase 1 – A 5-week or 1.5-day programme to explore your business idea and will help you to research and test the market potential of your business idea. New Frontiers is a free entrepreneur development programme funded by Enterprise Ireland during which you will develop your entrepreneurial toolkit, your understanding of startup supports, widen your network plus more. The programme will help you to prepare for our 6-month phase 2 “Develop the Business” Programme.

Local Enterprise Office Start-Your-Own-Business Programmes are free and run by the LEO offices in Limerick, Tipperary and Westmeath. The programme will guide people with a business idea through the various aspects of business and business planning. The objective is to assist them in assessing their idea, its viability and to decide if they should proceed or take a step back.

National Innovation Supports
Enterprise Ireland has a range of supports for the development of manufacturing and internationally traded services companies. They provide funding and supports for companies – from entrepreneurs with business propositions for a high potential start-up through to large companies expanding their activities, improving efficiency and growing international sales.
They also provide funding and supports for college based researchers to assist in the development, protection and transfer of technologies into industry via licensing or spin-out companies.

The Innovation Voucher initiative was developed to build links between Ireland’s public knowledge providers (i.e. higher education institutes, public research bodies) and small businesses. Innovation Vouchers worth €5,000 are available to assist a company or companies to explore a business opportunity or problem with a registered knowledge provider. Local Enterprise Offices offer a range of financial supports to the business community ranging from feasibility grants for new companies to Brexit supports for small business.
Community Outreach
EMPOWER is an annual free student programme, in collaboration between TUS Mid-West and Mary Immaculate College, which is aimed at secondary school students from transition year up to sixth year, is designed to help young people from the Mid-West develop and grow their innovative, entrepreneurial and creative skills, while also giving them a unique opportunity to work on solving real-life problems.

ITLG Young Innovators Young Innovators event brings together nearly 700 second level students from schools across Ireland. Shannon Airport has generously hosted past events and has been transformed into an incredible student think-tank as students compete for their schools and imagine the world 50 years from now.
The winning teams have received an array of technology prizes with the top award being an exciting weeklong internship to Silicon Valley, flights courtesy of Aer Lingus. Students will have the opportunity to visit world renowned technology companies such as Google and Intel, experience hands-on learning activities, and meet local entrepreneurs and innovators.

Social Enterprise
The Development Unit of takes the lead with regard to the development of social enterprise in the midwest region and beyond.
Social enterprises are organisations or businesses set up to tackle social, economic or environmental issues. Driven primarily by social and/or environmental motives, they engage in trading or commercial activities to pursue these objectives and produce social and community gain and are committed to social justice and social inclusion.
