The 2023 exhibition will be open to the public from June 3 to 11

Works by the next generation of artists and designers will be on display to the public in the coming weeks when the Limerick School of Art and Design TUS Graduate Show kicks off on Saturday, June 3. The popular showcase of unique collections and installations by graduating LSAD students will be available to view at the Clare Street Campus until Sunday, June 11.

Recognised as one of Europe’s leading fine art, design and creative media schools, LSAD will become the focus of the artistic world’s social calendar on this June bank holiday weekend, as graduates from across Ireland and internationally showcase their work. The public will have the opportunity to discover and enjoy the exceptional artistry and innovative concepts brought to life by the graduating students across various disciplines, including fine art, design, fashion, graphics, film, sculpture, photography, digital media and more. The annual Graduate Show serves as a culmination of years of hard work, exploration and artistic development by the graduating students.

This year’s Graduate Show will see the launch of a new Global Travel Award of €5,000 for a Fine Art graduate with the support of The Ireland Funds. Commenting ahead of the 2023 Graduate Show, Mike Fitzpatrick, Dean of Limerick School of Art & Design and Director of Cultural Engagement TUS said, “The LSAD Graduate Show this year represents some of our global concerns from the politics of propaganda, nostalgia through the lens of the war in Ukraine, reframing masculinity, jellyfish and the ecological crisis to consumer excess and 3D printing. A testament to the incredible talent of our students who have brought together captivating visuals and thought-provoking concepts created by various techniques and mediums which students have mastered throughout their academic journey. We are proud to showcase their exceptional works and celebrate their accomplishments. This exhibition is a platform for our graduates to launch their careers and make a lasting impact in the art and design industry. While not wishing to pick out any individual students visitors may note that one student has achieved a record number of paintings in his graduate show”

Mike continued, “For us, it is a time of great celebration and for our guests, it is an opportunity to see some wonderful work across all our programmes in Art, Design and Media, including Painting, Print, Sculpture, Graphic Design Communication, Animation Motion Design, Ceramics, Fashion, Textiles, Interior Design, Animation Production and Game Art Design, Creative Broadcast for Film and TV and Music Production and Technology.”

The LSAD Graduate Show will open to the public at 3pm on Saturday, June 3 and will be available to view from 10am to 5pm daily until Sunday, June 11, 2023.
