Frequently Asked Questions about your TUS Offer

Applications are submitted through our online portal here. If you are applying via an approved agent, they will submit your application through their platform on the portal. 

A €50 processing fee applies to all direct applicants. This is non-refundable however this fee will be deducted from your final fee amount.

The application fee applies to direct students only and for direct students, it cannot be waived. Students who apply through TUS Official Agents are not charged this fee.

If you come to Ireland to study a degree, you will be granted an immigration permission for a specific programme offered at an approved higher education provider. Only in very exceptional circumstances will you be allowed to change programme during the first year of your studies.-Frequently asked questions for students – Immigration Service

The EU fees are assessed based on how long you as an individual have been residing in the state for whereby you have not been studying during this period. If eligible, you would need to apply to the college through the domestic route which is the CAO, this opens 5th November at 12:00 noon, and closes the 1st of February 2025 at 5:00pm.

There is a two week turnaround time to receive an update from the date your application was submitted. This is due to the fact that we need to collaborate with the academic staff to fully review and determine an applicants eligibility.

No unfortunately, we do not offer any grants, but the Limerick campus can facilitate payment plans. But please bare in mind that if you chose to study abroad, it is your responsibility to ensure that this choice is within your financial reach for the duration of your studies. 

No, you must apply for one course under one profile at any given time, however, you will be permitted to change your course choice before arrival given that you meet the eligibility. 

Generally most students will be eligible to receive one of our scholarships, you must have a GPA of 60% and over to be able to avail of our lowest scholarship. 

Yes, you should be able to save the started application as a draft, and come back to it later if you require more time to research your course choice. 

Within reason, you would be best to apply to a course that is aligned with your previous studies or your future career goals- where students are coming from a non-cognate area of study, there are HDips that can act as a bridging course where a student has never studied the foundations of this discipline. 

Yes, we do, however you will still need to provide your junior cycle exams (O-Levels) along with your final exams. Your grades will be taken into consideration also. 

You will need to submit an application, providing your supporting documents especially all academic transcripts which display the modules you have covered. We will then ask the academic staff to review and determine your eligibility. Please note, some courses do not permit advanced entry such as Psychology or the applied Science programmes. 

Generally we do not ask students to undergo an interview, but there are one or two programmes who require an interview. 

Yes, this can give the academic staff some insight into why you feel you should be accepted onto the programme and your determination to obtain this qualification, maybe you might want a career in the field, so be sure to mention why it is important to you. Try not to elaborate too much on things going on in your personal life, as the personal statement should focus on your educational journey and the career you wish to build for yourself in the future. 

In order to meet the criteria to be allowed to defer your place to the next academic year, you will need to pay a minimum of the deposit, this will ensure that your place and fee point is secured for the next academic intake. 

As soon as you receive an offer from the college and are happy to accept it. We really emphasise the significance of applying for your visa as early as possible. Every country has different wait times that can change throughout the year due to demand, so please ensure that this is your top priority once your offer has been issued. 

You absolutely do need to avail of your IRP card upon arrival into Ireland, you have 90 days from the date of your arrival to arrange the appointment over the phone. It is crucial that you abide by the conditions set out in your visa and that you are timely in the renewal process, as you do not want to be penalised for breaching any conditions.
