Erasmus Staff Mobility
Erasmus Teaching Staff Mobility
Erasmus Teaching Mobilities are available to all academic staff to avail of, regardless of the level of lecturing currently undertaken.
Academics interested in teaching must liaise with their Head of Department on staffing arrangements for TUS lectures, if engaging in a mobility during teaching weeks at TUS.
Where can I teach?
Erasmus supports teaching at other universities/colleges in the EU.
If you are interested in training at another university/college, TUS must hold an Erasmus Inter-institutional Agreement with the institution you wish to attend.
The availability of teaching opportunities is entirely dependent on the Erasmus partnership agreements of a staff member’s academic department / subject area. Please contact erasmus@tus.ie for the most up-to-date list of partnerships in your teaching area.
Under the Erasmus Programme, new partnerships are sought for our students and staff. Should you have a proposal for a potential Erasmus partner that TUS may engage in a reciprocal partnership with, please contact erasmus@tus.ie
How long can I go for?
The teaching mobility must last a minimum of 2 days and can last a maximum of 2 months. At TUS, we encourage staff to avail of 5-day training opportunities.
A staff member must teach for a minimum of 8 hours per week on their mobility.
The teaching period can also include a mixture of teaching and training.
What funding is available?
If accepted to teach under Erasmus, you will receive one IBB payment containing two grants: (1) your travel grant and (2) your subsistence grant.
N.B. If you receive Erasmus support funding to engage in teaching, you are not permitted to claim receipts for costs associated with the training through your TUS Department. Funding must be sought either from Erasmus staff funds or via your TUS Department.
Erasmus Training Staff Mobility
Both administrative and academic staff have the opportunity to participate in Erasmus Training Mobilities. They can choose from various training options, such as job shadowing, observation periods, professional development courses, or events focused on building specific competencies.
FAQ: Can I undertake training with another staff member?
Two members of the same department cannot undertake the same training with the same learning outcomes to the same location at the same time. Please contact erasmus@tus.ie more info.
FAQ: Can I go to a conference under the Erasmus Programme?
Conferences are not fundable as an Erasmus Training Mobility, per Erasmus programme guidelines.
Where can I train?
