A risk assessment looks at the potential hazards that can cause harm to people. It identifies whether measures are adequate, or additional measures are required, to prevent injury and ill health.
Some risk assessments may be simple, for example, assessing cleaning up spills on restaurant floors which can create a slip hazard. Other risk assessments will be more complex, for example, the risks associated with handling and mixing chemicals.
To assist with supporting the risk assessment process in TUS, a Generic Risk Assessment Guidance Document has been prepared to support managers and staff of Faculties, Departments, Research Institutes, & Campus Companies.
