The TUS Global Office

The Global Office is your first point of contact for all incoming international students and provides information to International students regarding visas, immigration, study abroad programmes and on campus services. You can contact the Global Office at Global@tus.ie

Opening Hours – Athlone & Moylish Campus: Monday – Friday: 9am – 1PM | 2PM – 5pm | Saturday – Sunday: Closed

You can request your student letters by emailing Global@tus.ie. You should allow at least 3 working days for letters to be issued. You do not need to request a letter for your immigration registration on arrival, these will automatically be issued to you weeks of your arrival.

Next Steps

Once you receive your offer, email Global@tus.ie within 30 days to accept and pay your deposit of €1000. Your place is only secured once the deposit is received. If you received a conditional offer, submit all outstanding documents as soon as possible. Payments should be made through Flywire for fast and secure processing, remember to include your full name and application number. If you wish to defer or reject your offer, email Global@tus.ie. Deferrals are only granted if your deposit is paid. Deposits are non-refundable except in cases of visa refusal, unmet academic conditions, or medical reasons (a €150 fee applies). No refunds are issued if you withdraw more than 6 weeks after your programme starts.

After You Arrive Ireland

There’s a lot to take in when you land in Ireland to begin your study at TUS  but you’re not alone. From documents and letters to orientation and settling in, the TUS Global team is here to support you every step of the way. You will need to apply for your GNIB/IRP card, your PPSN number, a student LEAP card for transportation all over Ireland and open a bank account. Frequently Asked Questions & Important Information

  • TUS Global offers a free pick-up service for students arriving to either the Dublin or Shannon International Airport on different schedules for students studying at the TUS Limerick & Athlone Campuses. Fill the Arrival Form to get this support when you arrive Ireland. This should be completed as early as possible and students should give at least 14 days’ notice of their arrival. These weekly Dublin Pick Up days will be communicated to you through email. The Global Office will send communication on these dates throughout July and August. Please note – All students should confirm their move in day with their accommodation provider before booking their flights to Ireland.

  • Bus Services from Dublin Airport to Limerick:

    EireagleEireagle offers 10 daily departures from Dublin Airport direct to Limerick.

  • Bus Services from Dublin Airport to Athlone:

    TUS provides transport on designated days for all new students from Dublin airport to TUS Athlone Campus. In order to avail of this service students should complete the Arrival Form. This should be completed as early as possible and students should give at least 14 days’ notice of their arrival. However, there are a number of buses and trains travelling from Dublin to Athlone each day. All buses and trains can be booked online, reduced web fares apply.     Citylink 763 – The drop off points for Citylink buses are TUS Athlone campus and B&Q store Coosan, Athlone.

    Aircoach – Dublin Airport to Galway (route 706/X) – drop off points are TUS Athlone campus and B&Q store Coosan, Athlone.

  • Ireland uses the Euro currency €.

  • For Ireland the associated plug type is G, which is the plug that has 3 rectangular pins in a triangle pattern.

  • The official language spoken is English. The Irish language is called ”Gaeilge” and you might see some words in public places but there will always be English words as well. The image attached shows some common Irish words and their meaning in English.

  • International Students studying in Ireland can work 20 hours per week during term time and 40 hours during holidays!

  • Emergency Services in Ireland: Dial 999 or 112 for an ambulance or for the police in an emergency
