This programme aims to introduce students to the core business discipline of talent management which forms the basis for a successful career in industry, commerce, public sector organisations or as an entrepreneur. Students will gain an understanding of the functional areas of business and the factors which influence business success through a talent management lens.

  • Micro and Macro Economics
    Microeconomics studies individual choice, consumers, firms and Government being the subjects of this choice. Macroeconomics is concerned with the operation of the economy as a whole where we deal with aggregate variables. Arising out of this study is an appreciation of policy issues and their impact on social, economic and environmental sustainability. The purpose of this module is to develop an understanding of the behaviour and actions of individual agents in the economy. This module aims to introduce students to the core principles and terminology of microeconomics and macroeconimcs and their role in business. Students will develop a range of economic analytical skills including numerical, graphical, research and modelling methods that can be applied in a variety of business careers.
    Contemporary Perspectives on Work and Organisations
    This module introduces students to the topic of contemporary perspectives on work and organisations by covering aspects of moral philosophy, ethics in business, sustainable development, micro and macro trends, globalisation, digitalisation, corporate social responsibility and environmental social governance.
    Applied Organisational Behaviour
    This module focusses on the interrelationship between the individual, the group dynamic and the internal environment within an organisation. Topics covered will include group dynamics and team performance, leadership and organisational culture. The module will facilitate an ability to assess the impact of organisational environments in a critical and analytical fashion. The module analyses how self-management and emotional intelligence impact the behaviour of an individual within a team.
    Introduction to Financial and Management Accounting for Business
    The module will develop the learners’ deep knowledge of the nature, function and application of financial management accounting and allow them to cultivate the knowledge, skills and competencies required to apply financial management accounting concepts and practices to real world organisations.
    Applied Practice 2: Organisational Alignment
    This module affords students the opportunity to implement the core work practice skills to compliment the other taught modules. Students will be required to make a business case proposal and it will form the basis of a work based learning project that will demonstrate the ability to engage as a skilled practitioner in their discipline. The aim of the module is to encourage learners to develop integrative learning, independent thought and critical reflection skills as they bring together a range of concepts, theories, frameworks and practices. For candidates that are currently not working, previous experience can be drawn upon with support from desk based case studies.
    Managing HRM in a Global Context
    This programme addresses the core functions and process of managing human resources in a global context, including the application of employment law and ethical responsibilities within an organisation. This programme aims to ensure that students acquire the required knowledge, competencies and skills to participate effectively in the administration and management of an organisation’s global human resources management function.
  • Minimum Entry Requirements

    Mature applicants (i.e over 23 years) that have completed the Level 6 Certificate in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification

  • This programme will be delivered online though our virtual learning environment.

  • Each 10-credit module normally equates to approximately 200 total learning hours. Total learning hours include the time spent in class, such as lectures, tutorials, and practical elements, as well as time spent working independently outside of college.

    The balance between these varies by discipline and level of study, and learners should be aware that workload will increase at particular times, especially when assignments are due.

  • The programme is assessed through a combination of continuous assessments, project work and examinations.
