Unlock the potential of Generative AI for business

Generative AI is rapidly changing how organisations approach marketing, customer service, finance, data analysis and business decision-making. Knowing how to communicate effectively with AI tools is becoming an increasingly valuable workplace skill.

Prompt Engineering for Generative AI is a practical six-week micro-credential designed to give learners the skills to use generative AI more effectively in a business environment. No prior coding knowledge is required, making the course accessible to anyone interested in developing practical AI skills for the workplace.

Over six weeks, learners will move from understanding the fundamentals of AI and prompt engineering to designing, testing and refining prompts for real-world business applications. The course takes an applied approach, helping participants understand not simply what generative AI can do, but how to get better, more reliable and more useful results from it.

6 weeks. 2 hours per week. Practical AI skills you can put to work immediately.

    During the programme, you will explore:

    • AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) and their role in modern business
    • The fundamentals of effective prompt engineering
    • How to create, refine and optimise prompts
    • Using AI for marketing and sales
    • Applying AI to customer service
    • Using AI for financial forecasting and data analysis
    • How to evaluate AI-generated outputs, recognise limitations and improve results
    • Advanced prompting techniques
    • Integrating generative AI into business strategy
    • The future of AI and prompt engineering in the workplace.

    By the end of the micro-credential, learners will be equipped to develop effective prompts for different business functions, use AI to analyse business scenarios and generate actionable insights, and critically assess the quality and limitations of AI-generated responses.

  • Minimum Entry Requirements

    Mature Applicants (i.e over 23 years)

    or

    Leaving Certificate Grade O6 at Ordinary Level in five subjects. Two of these subjects must be Mathematics and a language (English or Irish)

    or

    QQI Level 5 full award with a minimum of eight modules.

    or

    Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)

     

     

     

  • This programme will be delivered online though our virtual learning environment.

    Lectures will take place Thursday 7pm to 9pm

  • Each 10-credit module normally equates to approximately 200 total learning hours. Total learning hours include the time spent in class, such as lectures, tutorials, and practical elements, as well as time spent working independently outside of college.

    The balance between these varies by discipline and level of study, and learners should be aware that workload will increase at particular times, especially when assignments are due.

  • Assessment is designed to support practical and applied learning. Learners will engage with industry-focused activities, case studies, and practical exercises demonstrating the effective use of prompt engineering and generative AI within business settings.

  • The full course fee is €475 per learner. Eligible learners may qualify for funding support of 80% via the Micro-Credentials Learner Funding Subsidy, subject to eligibility criteria. The 20% direct fee is €95 For full details see www.springboardcourses.ie
