The aim of this programme is to provide the student with an introduction to the global aircraft leasing industry and examines Ireland’s history and role within the sector. It is intended to acquaint the student with why Ireland is an attractive country for this industry. Delivered by experienced industry experts, this course focuses on the key elements of a typical operating lease agreement and the responsibilities of the Lessor and Lessee during a lease term.
The course is a practical insight into the operations of the industry for the technical personnel. Ideal for those interested in gaining and practical knowledge of the sector from technical, financial, legal or other related backgrounds.

A Level 6 qualification in aircraft maintenance, an aviation qualification at Level 6 or above or with extensive experience in the aircraft maintenance industry.

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) – Assessment
The programme will run for 10 weeks in an online learning format, 1 evening per week, 3 hours per evening as follows;
Wednesdays from 7-10pm
Start Date
There will be an online welcome session for all students on 9th September 2026.
Online classes will commence on Wednesday 16th September 2026.
Location
All classes will be delivered fully online.
The proposed delivery schedule is subject to change.
Each 5 credits will normally equate to approximately 100 Total Learning Hours. Total Learning Hours includes the time you spend in class (lectures, tutorials, practical elements) and the time you spend completing work outside of college. The balance between these two varies by discipline, and by level of study. You should bear in mind that the workload will increase at particular times e.g. when assignments are due.
Continuous assessment (100% online). No end of semester exams.
Certificate in Aircraft Leasing (Special Purpose Award, Level 7, 10 ECTS)
The full programme fee is €1,550
This programme has secured funding under the Aviation Skillnet. Eligible companies and individuals can secure a contribution of 25% towards course fees.
