Meet the Team

TUS Athlone Campus Counselling Service is supported by a team of up to 12 professional, accredited psychotherapists contracted on a sessional basis annually.

Treasa Fox is Head of Student Counselling Service in TUS Midlands and holds an MSc in Counselling Psychology. Treasa established the student counselling service in former AIT in 1995, and has led its growth to a service of 12 full and part-time counsellors, which sees 7 – 10% of the midland’s student body annually. Treasa is passionate about student mental health and wellbeing and has led on several national projects to provide guidance to the sector and leading on innovations.
Treasa is mother to 4 lovely teenagers, enjoys gardening and growing her own food, and family time (except for the taxi-ing of aforementioned teenagers)!

Deirdre Hanamy is an IACP accredited psychotherapist. She joined TUS Midlands in 2018 and transitioned to her full-time role in 2021 as Senior Counsellor & Clinical Case Manager. In addition to providing psychological counselling, Deirdre supports the managing of the day-to-day service operations, ensuring high quality service is provided to all our students. She is passionate about supporting students’ mental health and wellbeing, throughout the academic year Deirdre co-facilities in class psychoeducational workshops which focus on the importance of wellbeing and the role it plays in students’ academic learning and performance and their overall student experience. Deirdre loves to spend time with her family and friends, enjoys going out for walks and horse-riding with her daughter.

Deirdre Hanamy, Senior Counsellor/Psychotherapist

Olivia Feehan is an IACP Accredited Psychotherapist with experience in both private practice and academic settings. She began her journey with the AIT Counselling Service in 2019, initially joining
part-time, before transitioning to a full-time position with the Student Counselling Service at TUS Midlands in 2022.
Olivia is passionate about fostering positive mental and emotional well-being among students. In her current role, she offers one-on-one psychological counselling, alongside designing and co-facilitating workshops specifically tailored to address student wellness. Additionally, she supervises applied psychology placement students, leads mindfulness groups, and develops social media content and a monthly newsletter to promote mental health awareness within the university community.
Outside of her professional life, Olivia enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and beloved dogs.
