Asset Management Trainee Grant Thornton Ireland

I am writing this testimonial in support of the Business Faculty in TUS where I undertook my undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Business and where I had the pleasure of learning about the dynamic economic and business environment in which I will pursue my future career.

I had the fruitful and most rewarding experience in learning from some of the most excellent and vibrant business brains that have shaped my love for business. The prospect of embarking on a new academic journey was exciting but also daunting, little did I know that the years spent learning and growing would aid me in securing a spot in one of Ireland’s top financial graduate programs and provide me with direct exposure to the ever evolving financial services landscape of which I am now a part of.

The course enabled me to make some wonderful connections and friendships through study and project groups and to cultivate a support system that has proven to be invaluable during my time in TUS. The lecturers all offered great encouragement for collaboration and fostered an environment where questions were welcomed and curiosity invoked! The passion that stemmed from the lecturers was infectious and encouraged a positive and interactive learning environment. Assignments and new modules and electives transformed from the unknown into exciting areas of interest. The community at TUS was not just a network of peers but was a support system that extended beyond the classroom. The teaching style is not to lecture but to involve and as Benjamin Franklin famously said:

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”

Some of my favourite modules included Management Accounting & Decision Making and Financial Markets with each lecture sparking more of my interest and allowing me to overcome the challenge of conquering the unknown and providing me with the confidence to adequately assess and constructively critique the dynamic and volatile financial landscape.

As I look back with fondness over my time at TUS I recognise that a college experience is not just an academic pursuit but is an adventure and a journey that takes the mind from a place of limited understanding to limitless curiosity and comprehension.

The experience was enriching and I would highly recommend any prospective students interested in a career in business to strongly consider TUS as the rewards far outweigh the investment in time and work.

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest” – Benjamin Franklin
