Enda McIntyre

Enda McIntyre is a Research Officer at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), working with the Just Transition Academy to address the educational and training needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and communities across the Irish Midlands. His research supports sustainable regional development as the area transitions away from traditional peat-based industries.

He brings a professional background spanning research, training, and compliance. Prior to joining TUS, Enda served as a Training Officer with Laois & Offaly Education and Training Board (LOETB), where he developed and delivered programmes in sustainability, digital skills, and enterprise capacity building. Earlier, he worked in audit and compliance, gaining expertise in governance, policy, and public administration.

Enda holds a degree in Community, Enterprise and Business Development, and a Diploma in Advertising, Finance, and Public Relations. His research interests lie at the intersection of education, enterprise, and community resilience within the framework of Just Transition. He is committed to producing evidence-based recommendations that inform policy and practice, while ensuring the voices of Midlands communities are represented and embedded within the transition process.
