Undergraduate Fees – Midwest

1. Student Contribution Fee

The Student Contribution Charge for the academic year 2024/2025 is €3,000. This is an annual charge, set by the Government for all full-time third level students.

Students can apply to SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) for a grant, which, if approved, may cover 100% of the Student Contribution charge. For information on grants go to www.susi.ie.

2. EU Tuition Fees

The EU Tuition fees for the academic year 2024/2025 will be as follows:

Most full-time undergraduate students will be covered by the *Higher Education Authority Free Fees Initiative scheme for their tuition fee, and therefore will only have to pay the aforementioned Student Contribution Fee.

However, students undertaking a second undergraduate programme, non-EU students, students studying by ACCS mode and students taking a year of a programme for a second time (i.e. repeating a year/level) may be liable for tuition fees.

Students who have previously attended another third level programme must complete a previous third-level form and submit it to the Admissions office so that their tuition fee liability can be determined. These forms can be requested from admissions.midwest@tus.ie.

3. Materials / Health & Safety Fee

Please note that these additional fees are not covered by SUSI and must be paid by the student before they start their programme.
 

Module Exemptions

Please note, that exempt credits attract the same fee as ordinary credits. Please contact admissions.midwest@tus.ie for more details.
 

Payment Options

All Undergraduate and Taught Postgraduate students can avail of three payment options:

Option 1:    100% on registration
Option 2:   50% by 31 October and 50% by 15 January
Option 3:  *By Instalment Plan – Signed and Agreed with the Grants & Fees Office.

Late Fee Payment Penalties

First Instalment:Non-payment by 31 October will incur a late payment charge of €50 and a hold will be placed on the student’s account.*
Second Instalment: Non-payment by 15 January – the student will have their IT access removed and a hold will be placed on the student’s account.*
 

*Please see hold implications below: 

  • Examination results will be withheld. 
  • Access to transcripts, statement of results, registration letters etc. will be withheld.
  • Continuing students will not be permitted to register for subsequent academic years. 
  • Students will not be permitted to graduate/receive their parchments until their outstanding debt has been cleared in full. 

 
IMPORTANT – PLEASE NOTE:

  • We are unable to discuss any student account with a third party unless a signed Third Party Agreement form is completed and returned to the Fees Office. If a parent/ guardian or nominated individual wishes to discuss a student account, the TPA form must be downloaded here and signed by the student.
  • Non-receipt of a Fee Reminder letter/text by a student will not be accepted as a valid reason for non-payment of fees.
  • Instalment plans do not run from one Academic Year to the next. A new instalment plan must be completed each year.
