My name is Soniya Muruga Goundar. I have been living in Ireland since 2022 and am a proud mother of three children. I am also the first person in my family to study in a foreign country, and I feel very proud of myself for taking this big step. Pursuing Master’s in Software Design With Artificial Intelligence course has opened a new chapter in my life, and I am excited to explore the many opportunities it brings. Choosing to study at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) was one of the best decisions I have made. The college has helped me discover new strengths, achieve my goals, and develop myself both personally and academically. I chose TUS because it is one of the top universities in Ireland and is also culturally close to my home country.
The application process at TUS was smooth and well-organized. The staff were helpful and made the entire process easy to follow. I am currently enrolled in the Software Design with Artificial Intelligence program. I successfully completed my first semester with a CGPA of 73.50% and I am now close to finishing my second semester. TUS provides a very supportive environment for students. The lecturers and staff are friendly and always willing to help, especially with assignments and projects. The library facilities are excellent and allow students to explore topics in more depth and develop their knowledge further.
One of the things I really appreciate about TUS is its celebration of cultural diversity. The university celebrates international festivals such as Holi, Diwali, and Chinese New Year, which helps students from different backgrounds feel welcome and included.
TUS also offers great career support services. The Career Centre assists students in preparing for jobs by providing guidance on CV writing, interview skills, and job searches. There are also many internship opportunities, which are important for completing the course and gaining real-world experience. The exam system is fair and manageable. With regular study and support from the college, students can perform well. TUS also encourages students to take part in sports and recreational activities, which help maintain a healthy balance between study and relaxation.
Moreover, TUS provides mental health support, healthcare services, and stress-relief guidance, especially during exam periods. The university also hosts career fairs, which are useful for understanding job opportunities and career paths. TUS offers a positive learning environment where students can grow both academically and personally. The campus is welcoming, and the Irish weather, though changeable, is part of the unique experience of living here. Sometimes, you can enjoy all four seasons in just one day!
Overall, I am grateful to be a part of the TUS community. It has been a wonderful place for me to learn, grow, and prepare for a successful future.
