Course Overview

The objective of this Certificate programme is to support learners in the area of personal, professional and well-being development. In particular, it seeks to create an awareness within the learner of the importance of reflecting on how they engage in the modern workplace. At its core, it seeks to cause learners to be open to change, while also motivating learners to acquire new skills and competencies, that will be beneficial to themselves and their organisation, should they identify the desire to do so.

The programme is designed in response to the demands of industry, and in response to past graduate feedback for a programme that delivers skills and competencies in Professional, Personal, Work place Development and Well-being. The rationale is to support and motivate learners to optimise their individual impact in the workplace while motivating them to engage in up-skilling and re-skilling opportunities in the area of Professional, Personal, Work place Development and Well being. Through this programme, it is anticipated that graduates will be motivated to be more impactful in the work place and that they seek to understand the planning involved to advance their careers in their own workplace.

  • Professional, Personal Workplace Development and Well-being

    This module focuses on the development of essential skills for professional and personal growth, particularly in the context of modern workplace dynamics. It enables students to engage in self-reflective practices to better understand their personal and professional journeys. The module integrates well-being and emotional intelligence as foundational elements of workplace success and career advancement. It includes mapping past career experiences, identifying personal strengths and weaknesses, and creating a structured career plan to guide future professional and personal growth.

  • Minimum Entry Requirements

    Mature Applicants (i.e over 23 years)

    or

    Leaving Certificate

    Grade O6 at ordinary level in five subjects in the leaving certificate. Two of these  subjects must be mathematics and a language (English or Irish)

    or

    QQI Level 5

    Full award with a minimum of eight modules

    or

    Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)

  • This programme will be delivered online though our virtual learning environment.

  • Each 10-credit module normally equates to approximately 200 total learning hours. Total learning hours include the time spent in class, such as lectures, tutorials, and practical elements, as well as time spent working independently outside of college.

    The balance between these varies by discipline and level of study, and learners should be aware that workload will increase at particular times, especially when assignments are due.

  • The programme is assessed through a combination of continuous assessments & project work.
