As Dean of Flexible and Work Based Learning Seamus leads two dynamic teams who work extensively with partners and stakeholders across the region. The Faculty includes the Department of Flexible Learning supports over 1,500 students annually to complete a range of part-time, online and blended programmes and the Careers and Employability Service which supports our students and graduates in work placement, careers advice and engagement with employers.
Seamus is a highly experienced manager with 25 years’ experience in energy, education and flexible learning environments. He has developed extensive networks regionally, nationally and internationally in the sustainable energy and higher education fields. Seamus has acquired a thorough knowledge and experience of Europe and national funding schemes with experience of coordinating large scale multi-national projects.
Seamus is also Head of Centre for the TUS Thurles Campus. Thurles aims to be the sustainability centre of excellence for TUS and Thurles is also the location for the Sustainable Development Research Institute (SDRI) which Seamus is Principle Investigator of.
Seamus is also Chair of the Board of Tipperary Energy Agency and Secretary General of FEDARENE, the European Federation of local and regional authorities and their agencies.
