Senior law lecturer in the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Athlone and researcher specialising in environmental governance, environmental justice and Brexit/Environment issues. Formerly a practising barrister with many years litigation experience. Head of the Access to Justice Observatory and Lead Researcher on the Climate Governance Observatory the EJNI (Environmental Justice Network Ireland). An Taisce ELIG Bureau Representative (Government advisory body on EU environmental law). Member of the European Environment Agency remunerated expert panel in the areas of climate and sustainable transitions. Regularly engages with UN mechanisms of the Aarhus Convention 1998 UNECE. Requested to give expert input on EU institutional expert consultations. Has given evidence before Joint Oireachtas Committees. Regularly contributes to Government & EU public and expert consultations. Member of IALT, IELA (Irish Environmental Law Association) and UKELA. Volunteer with local and national organisations (see below). Active on environmental NGO issues in Ireland.
