With over 25 years experience across the most disadvantaged communities in Limerick City, I took up my position as Manager of New Access to Apprenticeship Programme in March 2022. Based on my personal experience and commitment to equality and social inclusion, I completed MA by Research so that I could better understand barriers for young people furthest removed from education, and adequately support them to break the cycle of unemployment and education disadvantage. Due to the success of the Access to Apprenticeship Programme piloted in 2022 on the Moylish Campus, the programme has been extended to Athlone, with plans across other TUs, positively impacting the lives of young people, their families and communities of disadvantage.
