Town Bus Services (TFI Local Link Clonmel)
Three new town routes serve Clonmel as of December 2023: CL1, CL2, and CL9.
- CL1: Poppyfield Retail Park → Western Road → O’Connell Street → Davis Road → Crann Ard
- CL2: Ard Gaoithe Business Park → Cashel Road → Heywood Road → O’Connell Street → Davis Road → Crann Ard
- Both run seven days a week (~60-minute frequency), overlapping for a 30-minute frequency along central sections like Queen Street.
- CL9: Early morning and late evening service, enhancing connections to Kilkenny, Dublin City, and Dublin Airport.
Fares: Adults €2.00 (cash) or €1.50 (Leap), Students €0.75 with Leap.
*Note: Currently, none of the CL routes directly stop at the TUS campus, though future route updates are under consideration. Students can get off at O’Connell Street & Davis Road bus stops, with a 5-10 minute walk to campus.
Regional Bus & Coach Services
- Bus Éireann Route 55 (Expressway) connects Limerick – Clonmel – Waterford with multiple daily departures. This service stops in Clonmel town centre (O’Connell Street), within walking distance of the campus.
Getting to Campus from Public Transport
- From Clonmel Train Station: ~10 minutes’ walk south on Thomas Street via Fairfields or Queen Street.
- From bus routes that stop at Supermacs (e.g. Piltown Coaches) or along O’Connell Street/Davis Road (Town Bus services), the campus lies just a few minutes away on foot.
