 Ireland-New Zealand 2026 Call for Proposals
Agriculture and Climate Joint Research & Technology Initiative (ACJRTI).

In late June 2026, a Call for proposals will be launched for the second phase of the Ireland–New Zealand Joint Research Initiative. Building on the success of the first phase of the partnership, this new phase aims to accelerate progress on shared national priorities through strengthened international collaboration between New Zealand and Irish researchers.
The 2026 Call will take a mission-focused approach, supporting practical farm-level strategies and technologies to reduce agricultural greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining productivity, profitability, and competitiveness.

Clean Energy Transition Partnership 
The Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP) supports Irish researchers to develop and strengthen transnational collaborations and accelerate the energy transition towards achieving the EU’s goal of becoming the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. 
CETP is a European Partnership co-funded by the European Commission under Horizon Europe.

Funding –  Royal Irish Academy
SEAISEAI National Energy RD&D Call 2026 
The 2026 call includes an Open Strand, and a Thematic Strand, aligned with research priority areas and gaps identified in the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment’s Statement of Research & Innovation Needs and through our stakeholder consultation. 
The call is open to all research disciplines and to public and private sector organisations, either individually or in collaboration, for innovative projects of 1-4 years duration, up to €1.25 million,  to accelerate Ireland’s clean energy transition. 
 
New for 2026: Introduction of an Offshore Renewable Energy RDD+ funding pathway, recognising current challenges in accessing suitable test infrastructure in Ireland. 
Supports projects requiring international test facilities 
Provides up to €2 million per project
