The level 6 in Graphic Design will provide you with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to evolve as a graphic designer, a place where you will learn to combine your artistic ability with digital & analogue technologies.
Our innovative approach is about learning through doing, allowing the student to engage in design activities through experimental play. Through this process the student develops the ability to solve problems in a variety of different ways from print to screen; incorporating, branding, editorial design, photography, illustration, animation, video and motion graphics.
For assessment, we require that each applicant selects three of their best pieces of work. Each individual piece has a weighting of 200. The work can be individual or related pieces and should represent the best skills of the applicant. If the applicant’s strengths are in problem solving, they may submit research/visual development as one of the three. Again, work submitted should reflect the strengths and personality of the applicant; be that in illustration, painting, typography, photography, graphic design or showcase the visual development/research of your work. Applicants can submit their three pieces digitally, photograph the work and save it as a pdf, or email a link to a video of the work or sketchbooks. Preferably, combine the three pieces into one pdf file for submission. Please submit your portfolio on or before the assessment date of Monday 2nd September.
