IMG_0204_Meng Jing

Jing Meng (Jack) serves as the Director of Asia at the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest (TUS). A proud alumnus, he completed his Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in marketing and Master of Business Studies at Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT), which later merged with Limerick Institute of Technology to form TUS, and also completed his Doctoral Degree in Philosophy (PhD) at TUS. His professional journey from international student to senior university leader closely reflects the development and internationalisation of the institution itself.

Jack’s PhD focuses on family decision-making in international higher education, examining how cultural traditions, social expectations, and contemporary conditions influence choices around overseas study. Positioned at the intersection of academic inquiry and professional practice, the research contributes to broader discussions on global student mobility, international education policy, and cross-cultural engagement.

Alongside his research and professional responsibilities, Jack is actively involved in academic, professional, and community engagement. He has been invited as a guest speaker at institutions such as the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, where he shares insights drawn from both research and practice. Beyond academia, he is a committee member of the Shanghai GAA Football Club and manages the club’s youth programme, supporting leadership development, community participation, and international exchange through sport.
