Dr Shane Byrne is a composer and educator working in the field of creative media. His main area of interest is electronic music composition and in particular, ways in which embodiment, physical and social interactions, and generative systems can influence the creative process.
He enjoys creating custom-built software and hardware interfaces for his projects, as well as dabbling in field recording and soundscape composition.
His works have been performed internationally at festivals and conferences including ICMC, TIES, ISSTC, MUSA, SMC, iFIMPac, Sonorities, and KLG.
He is currently the program coordinator of the BSc (Hons) in Music and Sound Engineering at TUS Midlands where he lectures in Electroacoustic Composition, Interactive Audio, Audiovisual Composition, Visual Creation, and Audio Electronics.
