Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) has officially established its LGBT+ & Allies Staff Network. The inaugural meeting of the network took place on Tuesday, June 14th. The network has been established by the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion department at TUS to both foster equality, diversity and inclusion with and for the LGBTI+ community and raise awareness of LGBT+ issues.

Encouraging a welcoming LGBT+ community at work, the newly established network will provide opportunities for LGBT+ staff and their allies to come together and connect through events and initiatives. The inaugural meeting of the network on June 14th saw members discuss the aims and ambitions of the LGBT+ & Allies Staff Network along with activities for the coming months.

Commenting on the establishment of the TUS, LGBT+ & Allies Staff Network, Dr Carol Wrenn, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager said, “I’m delighted this network has now been formed. The EDI office look forward to supporting this initiative across all of our campuses and working with TUS staff to further embed an inclusive working environment, where members of the LGBT+ community feel safe, welcome and valued.”
