Considering Counselling? – Midwest

TUS Student Counselling Services (SCS) offer professional, confidential individual counselling, which is free to registered students, available in person or online and is staffed by highly qualified mental health clinicians. Our Services provide accessible, student-centred psychological and emotional support for students. Students who present in crisis are prioritised for support.

TUS Student Counselling Services also offer a variety of skills/support groups, psychoeducational workshops, and webinars in areas such as overcoming anxiety, building resilience, managing depression, mindfulness, DBT and more. During each academic year TUS SCS also host mental health and wellbeing events.

TUS Student Counselling Services support students with a wide range of issues including complex psychological presentations, academic related issues, stress, anxiety, panic, low mood, depression, body image issues, relationship issues, loss/bereavement, sexual trauma, addictions, and more.

TUS SCS also signpost to, and collaborate with University supports such as pastoral care, student health, learning support, disability services, including supports for our neurodivergent student community, financial support, careers and employability.

TUS SCS work closely with external services including the HSE, A&E Crisis Teams, Day Hospitals, GP’s, community, voluntary services and supports.
