• Problem Based Learning (PBL) based approaches will be used to challenge and expand the students’ knowledge, skills and competence.
• The programme addresses to a significant level all four key areas, which have been deemed by government as being of critical importance at this time: digital skills, transversal skills, management and leadership skills and the workplace of the future.

This is a Springboard+ Funded Programme.

This programme will be fully funded for eligible applicants.

This programme aims to provide the learner with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the concepts and principles of logistics and supply chain management in an organisation. The learner will acquire the knowledge and skills to work in a variety of logistics and supply chain scenarios and will be equipped to identify, analyse and manage complex challenges in this functional area of an organisation.

Logistics and supply chain management are playing an increasing critical role in the growth of organisations and businesses in national and international markets. The programme covers the logistics and supply chain management principles necessary for the achievement of effective distribution and logistics channels.

This programme will give learners the opportunity to further their skill, or re-skill and make a positive contribution to the economy through gaining an understanding of the dynamics of business and in particular from a warehousing, transport, distribution, exporting and customs perspective ensuring they are better at making decisions, solving problems and skilled for the workplace of the future.

  • Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Leadership and Management Development

Semester 2

  • Contract Law, Customs and the Regulatory Environment
  • Distribution, Warehousing Design and Storage
  • Applied Practice 1: Personal and Professional Context

Mature applicants (i.e., over 23 years)
or
Leaving Certificate Grade O6 at ordinary level in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate. Two of these subjects must be Mathematics and a language (English or Irish)
or
QQI Level 5 – Full award with a minimum of eight modules
or
Recognition of Prior Learning.

Tuesday & Thursday 6.30pm – 9.30 pm (online) Plus selected Saturdays per 9am – 1pm (online).

Start Date – Week Commencing 09 September 2024

For online programmes, lectures will be delivered online, and recordings of lectures will be available to view in the student’s own time.

Induction

Induction for the September 2024 programmes takes place on Saturday 7 September 2024 from 9.00am to 1.00pm. In advance, you will be required to review Pre-Induction reading material, available to you on https://tus.ie/flexible.

During Induction, you will be given the opportunity to:

– Meet your programme lecturers, programme co-ordinator and students

– Overview of the programme handbook, programme’s modules, assessments and delivery timetable

– Introduction to TUS learning systems including MS Office, Zoom, Moodle etc

– Outline of the learning supports available to you during the programme

Fee Policy 

 

 

One Year

On completion of this programme graduates will have the knowledge and skills of the broad areas of supply chain and broader management perspective and will be able to work in different areas of business, as the supply chain industry is continuing to grow. Graduates may use this qualification to gain employment in the growing logistics and supply chain sector or advance within their current role and organisation.
