The Department of Sport & Early Childhood Studies will host their annual female-only Sport Science workshop for 6th year students on Friday 27th February from 10am – 1pm at TUS Thurles SportsLab.
This year’s workshop will be aligned with our new BA (Hons) Physical Education and Business degree, due to commence in September 2026 at TUS Thurles. On the day, we will provide a brief overview of the course, and the practical stations delivered will reflect key elements of the course content.
On the day, participants will take part in 5 performance stations:
- Asymmetries in lower body muscles using Force Plates
- Physical Literacy Movements
- Effects of the Menstrual Cycle on Training
- Body Fat and Muscle Mass Assessment
- How to develop Speed and Power
- Asymmetries in lower body muscles using Force Plates
