Tanishkaa Sudhakar Thakur, MSc in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Analysis Graduate 2025
As part of my MSc in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Analysis programme at TUS, I was fortunate to complete an overseas research placement on the Emmen campus of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. NHL Stenden is one of the RUN-EU European University Alliance Universities (Regional University Network – European University), which includes TUS. This experience of conducting my 30 ECTS Research Project as part of my MSc in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Analysis programme was one of the most fulfilling moments of my academic journey to date.
It gave me the chance to collaborate with students and academics from diverse cultural and scientific backgrounds, pushing me beyond my comfort zone and helping me grow both professionally and personally. Representing TUS abroad was a proud moment that strengthened my confidence and shaped my outlook as a global scientist.
I am especially grateful to TUS and funding from the European Commission Erasmus+ Programme, whose support made this opportunity possible. More than just a research placement, the opportunity to work in a dedicated Polymer Research Centre in NHL Stenden and live in the Netherlands was a transformative experience that broadened my perspective, built lifelong connections, and inspired me to pursue my goals with even greater determination.
