Sumana Biswas is a Post-Doctoral Researcher and Research Engineer (Intelligent Manufacturing Systems) in Irish Digital Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing Institute (IDEAM) at the Technological University Shannon (TUS), as well as a researcher at the University of Galway. With over 7 years of experience in multimodal data analysis, Sumana has honed her expertise in analysing complex datasets from various sources, including text, images, and audio.
A trained Software Engineer, Sumana also holds a Master’s in Information Technology. Before embarking on her research career, she spent 11 years as an Assistant Professor, teaching undergraduate students in areas like Database Management Systems, Data Structures and Algorithms, Software Engineering, Computer Graphics and Multimedia, Image Processing, and Artificial Intelligence.
With a strong foundation in both academia and applied research, Sumana continues to contribute to the fields of intelligent systems and data-driven analysis while balancing her passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation of technologists.
