Sherifat Ukachukwu is a qualified nurse with a Masters degree in Nursing in Leadership and Quality Healthcare and extensive experience in clinical practice and healthcare education. She also holds certification in advanced clinical audit. She is registered as a Nurse in both Ireland and Nigeria, and additionally holds registration as a Midwife and Public Health Nurse in Nigeria.
Sherifat began her nursing career in Nigeria, where she gained diverse experience across medical-surgical, neonatal, and radiology nursing, as well as nursing administration. During her time in administration, she played a key role in planning and facilitating clinical placements for students, actively contributing to the education and practical training of future nurses. Her strong commitment to improving patient care also led her to engage in a variety of quality improvement initiatives and healthcare innovations.
Since relocating to Ireland in 2018, Sherifat has continued her professional journey as a neonatal nurse while contributing to quality improvement projects. In July 2024, she was appointed Clinical Skills Learning Coordinator in the Department of Nursing at TUS, where she supports the development of students’ practice learning environments, coordinates and plans clinical skills training, and fosters high standards of nursing education, among other responsibilities.
