Lucina Russell

Over 20 years’ experience in arts management, with expertise in developing and implementing arts policy and strategy in local government. Management and delivery of funding and development support to community and arts organisations, working with key cultural, social, economic and political stakeholders, including the Arts Council, Creative Ireland, H.S.E. and Maynooth University, working to further public engagement in the arts, while supporting and mentoring individual artists, communities of interest (including place-based, climate and environmental) and communities of practice (particularly in Arts and Health, Arts and Disability and Arts in Education). A skilled project manager and curator of public art commissions. Responsible for Kildare County Council’s Municipal Art Collection policy, collection and programme development.

Qualified as a second level teacher of Art & Design, teaching in formal and informal education settings in North Inner-City Dublin. Previously lectured in Visual Arts in Initial Teacher Education in Froebel Department, Maynooth University and Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, before joining the Art & Design Teacher Education team in Limerick School of Art in 2023.

Committed to developing personal practice as a visual artist, with particular interest in collaborative projects.
