Jing Meng (Jack) serves as the Director of Asia at the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest (TUS). A proud alumnus, Jack earned his Master of Business Studies from the Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT), which later joined forces with the Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) to become TUS. Jack’s journey from student to academic leader mirrors the growth and evolution of the institution itself.
In the complex field of Chinese family decision-making for children’s international education, Jack is not just an observer but a pivotal researcher. Currently pursuing a PhD, he provides nuanced insights into the cultural, traditional, and modern factors influencing educational choices in China. This research is not just academic; it has the potential to bridge cultural divides and foster a deeper understanding of Chinese familial dynamics.
Jack’s commitment to understanding these intimate decisions extends beyond his research. As a guest speaker at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, he shares his findings, contributing to the global dialogue on education and culture. His dedication to cultural exchange also plays out in the realm of sports, where he manages both the Gaelic football club in Shanghai and the city’s youth Gaelic football team, cultivating a spirit of community and sportsmanship. Through his multifaceted engagement, Jack Meng stands as a vital conduit between the educational landscapes of China and the international community.
