Jimmy has more than 25 years’ experience in higher education executive management in the areas of governance, financial management, campus services, commercial operations and infrastructure development.
As Chief Operations Officer, he has responsibility for the overall strategic leadership and management of the following functions: Finance and Corporate Services, Campus Services and Campus Development , People and Organisation, and Internationalisation and Alumni.
A qualified management accountant, Jimmy has also completed an MBA in Higher Education Management at the University of London.
Jimmy is currently the Chairperson of the Audit & Risk Committee of Clare County Council and previously served as Chairperson of the Audit & Risk Committee of the Munster Council of the GAA from 2022 to 2024.
In his spare time, Jimmy is actively involved in the management and coaching of hurling teams with experience at club, county, school and college level.
