Frances is part of the TUS executive management team implementing an inaugural remit in the Technological University Sector. Her knowledge of and academic experience in Athlone Institute of Technology, Limerick Institute of Technology, in higher education, and in her wider career to date, is informing her role as Vice President for Student Education and Experience in the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) since December 2021. She leads the delivery of a positive impact on policy, procedures, processes, infrastructures, and the digital ecosystem that influence directly the student experience in higher education.
Frances has successfully led large scale teams working on complex transformational projects, both in Ireland and internationally, in the full range of sectors including the civil service, the public service, the private sector, and as a senior management consultant.
Frances is part of many strategic initiatives and projects bringing positive change in the higher education sector. She is one of the leads on the conceptual design and implementation of a large-scale European funded project (NTUTORR) that is addressing transformational change in teaching, learning, and assessment in the sector. She is using her knowledge and direct experience as Registrar and Vice President for Academic Affairs during COVID-19 to shape new pedagogical practices and infrastructural developments that will improve the students’ educational experience in higher education.
