Seán’s role is focused on the academic and operational leadership of an agile and innovative faculty.
He has extensive experience in the manufacturing sector, having worked in various multinational companies including Perlos Oyj, The Tech Group and Bausch & Lomb before returning to academia.
Seán is also a Principal Investigator at the Applied Polymer Technologies Technology Gateway, where his research interests focus primarily on the processing of polymer materials for applications in the biomedical and advanced manufacturing industries.
He has managed a wide range of fundamental and industrially applied funded projects focusing on polymer materials and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
Seán is a graduate of what was then Athlone Institute of Technology, obtaining both a BEng (Hons) in Polymer Engineering (2002) and a PhD in Polymer Engineering (2007).
