Dr. Muftah Fraifer

Senior Research Fellow

Department of Computer and Software Engineering

A man with short brown hair and a light goatee smiles faintly while looking directly at the camera. He is wearing a dark blue blazer over a light blue collared shirt with the top button undone. He is indoors, with a window visible on the left side of the frame and a light-colored brick wall behind him on the right. The ceiling has acoustic tiles.

Dr. Muftah Fraifer received his Ph.D. from the University of Limerick in 2018. His research focuses on machine vision, autonomous systems, IoT, and applied AI. He has authored over 13 peer-reviewed publications with an h-index of 8 and approximately 400 citations on Google Scholar.

His previous experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Blended Autonomy Vehicles (BAV) project with Lero – the Irish Software Research Centre at University of Limerick and as a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at University College Cork on the PERCeiVE project.
