Dr Gushwa (she/her) is Head of the Department of Applied Social Sciences. She earned a Bachelors (Hons) in Sociology & Literature from the University of Redlands, an MSW from California State University San Bernardino and a PhD from the Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr Gushwa has more than 25 years of practice experience as a social worker in the areas child protection, paediatric medical social work and clinical therapy with children & families.
Her research focuses on child maltreatment fatalities, trauma education and interprofessional education.
