Dr. Karen Leonard is a Registered Systemic Psychotherapist (FTAI) and a Registered Social Worker (CORU). She is a full-time Lecturer in Social Care and Early Childhood Education and Care at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), Athlone. She is a Visiting Course Tutor and Doctoral Supervisor on the Professional Doctorate in Systemic Practice (PDSP), University of Bedfordshire, Luton, UK.
In 2020, she completed her Professional Doctorate in Systemic Practice at the University of Bedfordshire. Her research entitled Creating Spaces for Relational Reflexivity in Social Care Education involved the development of a model of systemic relational reflexivity for social care education and other allied health professions.
She has vast experience of working with individuals, couples and families in several family centres in Dublin and the West of Ireland, and at her own private practice located in Co. Roscommon.
