Public Transport – Coonagh Campus

TUS Coonagh Campus is well connected by public transport, offering students a choice of city buses, regional services, train connections, and a TUS free shuttle link.

Bus Routes Serving Coonagh

  • Bus Éireann Route 302 (Caherdavin via Moylish – City Centre)
The 302 operates frequently between Limerick City Centre and Caherdavin. While it does not stop directly at Coonagh Roundabout, students can alight at nearby stops such as Blackthorn Drive or Caherdavin Community Centre, which are approximately a 10–15 minute walk to campus.
  • Bus Éireann Routes 317, 317A, 330X, and 343
These services stop directly at Coonagh Roundabout, the closest public bus stop to campus (around a 3-minute walk).
    • The 343 is especially useful for students travelling from Shannon, Ennis, or Bunratty.
    • The 317/317A and 330X provide additional regional links from nearby towns into Limerick.

Train Connections

Limerick’s main train station, Colbert Station, offers rail links to Dublin, Galway, Cork, and other major cities. From the station:

  • Students can connect to the 302 bus towards Caherdavin and alight at Blackthorn Drive (10–15 min walk).
  • Alternatively, they can transfer to regional buses such as the 343 to reach Coonagh Roundabout (3 min walk to campus).

Free Shuttle Bus Service

Students can also avail of the free shuttle bus service linking:

  • TUS Moylish Campus and TUS Coonagh Campus.
This service is particularly useful for students who need to move between campuses during the day.

Why These Routes Work Well for Students

  • 302 – frequent city service linking the campus area with the city centre and train station.
  • 343 – ideal for students travelling from Shannon or Ennis.
  • 317/317A & 330X – extra regional links.
  • Free Shuttle – convenient, cost-free link between Moylish and Coonagh.
