Private Buses – Coonagh Campus

While no private coach services stop directly at the Coonagh Campus, students travelling from outside Limerick can use private operators that serve Limerick City Centre. From the city, local public buses or walking options connect to Coonagh.

Examples of Private Operators serving Limerick City:

  • Dublin Coach (Green Bus) – Services between Dublin, Limerick, Tralee, and Ennis.
  • Expressway (Bus Éireann) – Intercity routes to Limerick from Cork, Galway, Dublin, Tralee, and Waterford.
  • Local Link Clare/Limerick – Rural services linking smaller towns and villages to Limerick City.

A more direct option for students is the JJ Kavanagh 735 service (Limerick – Nenagh – Dublin), which offers a very convenient option for students travelling to TUS Coonagh Campus.

Step-by-Step Journey

  1. Board the JJ Kavanagh 735 bus at your local stop (services run from Limerick, Nenagh, Roscrea, Portlaoise, and Dublin).
  2. Get off at the TUS Moylish stop on Old Cratloe Road, directly outside the Moylish Campus.
    • This is the designated JJ Kavanagh stop and is closer to campus than Limerick City Centre.
  3. Take the Free TUS Shuttle Bus from Moylish to Coonagh Campus.
    • The shuttle runs every hour during peak times.
    • Quick and reliable link – the journey takes just a few minutes.
  4. Arrive at Coonagh Campus – no extra cost for the shuttle.

Getting from Limerick City Centre to TUS Coonagh:

  • The 302 bus (TFI) travels from Limerick City Centre towards Caherdavin, with the nearest stop at Blackthorn Drive, about a 10-minute walk to campus.
  • Alternatively, free TUS Shuttle Buses operate between Coonagh Campus and Moylish Campus, useful for students living near Moylish or using services that stop there.
