Centre for Creativity, Enterprise, Innovation, Design & Engagement Research (CEIDE)

Overview 

TUS is dedicated to providing active leadership in enterprise development and to supporting knowledge transfer and socio-economic development across the pan-European areas serviced by the Regional European (RUN-EU) Network of colleges. The aim of the CEIDE Research Centre is to leverage academic resources and research output to support this remit.  

Aims & Objectives 

The core objectives of CEIDE are: 

  1. To build upon the existing critical mass and expertise in the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation and business design that exists within the TUS academic community generally, with a specific focus on discipline specialists in the broad areas of business and the humanities. 
  1. To grow the profile of postgraduate research opportunities within the TUS undergraduate and alumni community. 
  1. To engage in research, demonstration, consultancy and project development activities in the related fields of enterprise, innovation, commercialisation, social entrepreneurship and business design. 
  1. To create synergies with other research groups and faculties within TUS and across the RUN-EU network to increase postgraduate opportunities for TUS graduates, improved supervision opportunities for staff, and thereby driving the development of internationally relevant enterprise research. 
  1. To engage with nascent business start-ups, growing SMEs, and intrapreneurial multinationals to support the creation of supportive collaborative and networking activities aimed at supporting their specific needs.  
Resourcing 

To date, CEIDE has supported the development of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in enterprise, innovation, digital marketing, international business studies and management across TUS. Postgraduate research has been focussed in the areas of:  

  • SME development 
  • Enterprise clusters 
  • Financing and funding sources for SMEs 
  • Mobile technology, business intelligence and big data 
  • SME internationalization 
  • Ethical entrepreneurship, social innovation and entrepreneurship education
