Student INC
The Student Incubation Programme also known as Student Inc. is a programme set up to encourage student entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas in TUS. It is a full time programme that usually runs from the months of June-August. The undergraduate students range from various different courses. This programme is led by Gillian Barry, Head of Innovation & Enterprise and the Enterprise Interns. The students receive expert mentoring in the areas of market research, finance, business planning and much more. Each thriving entrepreneur receives €4,000 to fund their business. They will also obtain a fully serviced office space in one of our centres based in Limerick, Tipperary & Athlone.
We are seeking funding for the 2024 programme, but if you would like to find out more about Student INC, click here
Student Entrepreneur Awards
The Enterprise Ireland run and funded Student Entrepreneur Awards is at the forefront of developing entrepreneurship, giving young entrepreneurs a viable pathway to transform their smart ideas into commercial businesses. This is more than a business competition and can span across all faculties. It aims to stimulate entrepreneurship and to encourage students to start their own business. The competition is a great opportunity for ambitious and enterprising third level students to build a real-world business venture.
The TUS Innovation Team promote the annual competition amongst the student body and work with students who want to submit an entry. Click here if you want to know more.
Start-Up Clinics
Our Start-Up Clinics are an opportunity for students to initially explore a business idea they may have, which could be a continuation of a FYP or something entirely different. Our wider team includes entrepreneurs (we have four entrepreneurs in residence with serious global experience), investors, designers, coaches, experts in product/service development, business development, finance, leadership, experts in various niche and vertical areas and more.
Lunch & Learn
Both the Hartnett and QUESTUM centres host (in person and online) an annual series of lunch and learn events running from September through to May. The series is run in conjunction with the Limerick and Tipperary Skillnets. The topics are varied but each session provides an opportunity to step away from studies, and meet and network with like minded people.
